Lost

It's been a couple years almost since I posted last.  Needless to say I never got my scrapbooking store up and running.  I have taken a break from designing for a little bit but will probably get back to it at some point.  Life gets busy and in the way of doing things sometimes.  I have had an interesting journey this past year.  Work has been crazy busy, the kids have grown and new challenges arose.  I have gotten back into church after a long hiatus.  I am looking forward to what the year has to bring.

Store Update

I am having a difficult time with my store and trying to get my kits uploaded and ready to go so there may be a delay in it's opening by the end of April, *sigh*

While I've been busy with the store I have also been busy scrapping too!  Having 5 kids and 5 grandkids gives me a lot of inspiration.  Here are some of the pages that I've done lately.....

My husband and I made a trip to see some of the grandbabies and we went to the park with their bikes.  It was hilarious as they all had new bikes and didn't know quite how to ride them.  Gabe, the oldest, went riding down a hill and didn't know that you pedal backwards for the brakes....he used the grass to stop himself instead.  Arwen and Liam had difficulty with the pedaling part of it and used their feet instead.  Grandpa decided to show them how it was done.  Too Funny!  I used the April 2013 Collab Kit from The Digi Chick called "Samba, Samba".  Great kit to work with.  I love all the bright colors in it and the elements are terrific.  I found that I have a great liking for feathers lately and incorporated a wonderful teal colored one in both pages.  Too cool!  You can find the kit here  Right now it is on sale so it's a perfect time to pick it up if you like bright colors.

Easter was a great time with the family and we had about 38 people here at the house.  The weather was chilly but at least it wasn't raining on our parade and we were able to go outside for the Easter Egg Hunt and Pinata.  The Pinata is great fun for all the kids, including the big kids...of course it helps if the person controlling the rope pulls it up sometimes so it doesn't get crushed before the big kids get their turn at it...lol.  For these pages I used a template by Chrissy W and the kit was Scrap Therapy by Kimeric both at The Digi Chick.  This was done for their April Template Challenge.  I had a great time working with it.  I flipped the template for the second page which tied it together so well.

I will try to post another freebie on here sometime next week so keep checking back to see what I've been working on.

I've been working on revamping some of my old kits and so I am going to have some freebies up periodically of some of the old pieces from the kits.  The first one I'm going to release are the quick pages I made with the kit Random Acts Of Love.  Here are what the pages look like:

Deco Pages has been closed for a while now and I am working on building my own store and hope to have it up and running by the end of April.  I hope you enjoy these.  If you use them and post them in any galleries, I would love to see what you do with them, please share.

You can get these QP's here:

Catching Up

It's been a long time since I've blogged here.  Busy doesn't seem to be a strong enough word for all that has gone on. I have recently gotten "active" in a couple of digital scrap booking sites; Digital Scrapbooking Studio and Divine Digital.  In doing so, I have created more pages in the last month then I had in the last couple years.  I miss designing my own kits for a store but have had a wonderful time actually scrapping.  I will eventually be opening my own store as I re-prepare my previous kits and design new ones though.  I will post pictures of some of the kits that I have been working on next week and will get some freebies added as well.  But in the meantime, here is some of what I have created using kits from DSS:

The top two pages were created with pieces from the March 2013 Mega Kit "You Make Me Happy" and you can find it here:  https://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=315_317&products_id=19347&zenid=f6e2a858b40d7a6558a591a00f67e27b  I have loves playing with this kit.  The third page was created for the March 2013 Color Challenge using the free mini kit from the moderator.  That was fun working with too but my absolute favorite was the fourth page:  My Aunt Stephie.  Maybe it was the most fun because of the subject matter or because of the awesome kit I used for it, I don't know but this one is my fav.  I used Shabtastic by JustSoScrappy and you can find it herehttps://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=13_390&products_id=19447&zenid=f6e2a858b40d7a6558a591a00f67e27b

Tomorrow I will post some of the pages I've made using kits from Divine digital.  They were great fun to work with as well.

Thanks for reading!

Liam's Journey

At the tender age of 2 my grandson Liam was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes also known as Juvenille diabetes.  After having been sick for months they had finally figured it out.  He now has to live a completely different lifestyle and take multiple insulin shots everyday just to survive.  As a grandmother, it required a lot of education on my part to understand what this disease really is and how can I help him and his parents.  So, I've spent a lot of time on the JDRF website and getting a lot of education.  I decided that I wanted to help and have registered a Walk to Cure Diabetes team.  In an effort to assist raising money I created a new digital scrap kit called Liam's Journey, as it is just that for him....a new journey.  Here are some pages that I created with the kit:

I really had a lot of fun designing this kit and making these pages with it.  In basic colors used by the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes walk, it turned out bright and cheerful.  You can see the previews for the kit below.  If you are interested in purchasing this kit, please make a minimum of $5.00 donation to Liam' Team here:  Liam's Team  After you've made the donation, email a copy of your receipt to liondesigns@live.com and I will send you links for the kit.  There are over 100 elements and over 30 papers in this kit, it is well worth the money and a great way to support this very worthy cause, that will not only benefit my grandson but thousands of others as well.  Thank you for your support!
