Breast Cancer Awareness Freebie 3

In an article on Woodlands Online "According to the American Cancer Society, about 182,460 women in the United States will be found to have invasive breast cancer in 2008. About 40,480 women will die from the disease this year. The chance of a woman having invasive breast cancer some time during her life is about 1 in 8, and the chance of dying from breast cancer is about 1 in 35." These are pretty staggering statistics. You can read the article here: http://woodlandsonline.com/npps/story.cfm?nppage=27173. You can plan ahead to detect symptoms early and the National Breast Cancer Awareness has a tool to help you. This tool is an interactive tool to help remind you to schedule breast self – exams, mammograms, and clinical breast exams and includes a flexible reminder system using email notifications, calendars, and text messages. You can find it here: http://www.nationalbreastcancer.org/edp/

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month! You probably know someone who has been affected by this or possibly have been affected yourself. I have two of four Aunt's who are survivors of breast cancer. They are the lucky ones as there are thousands who die of this disease every year, but they don't have to. Early detection is key to surviving the disease and can be done with a simple monthly exam and yearly or bi-yearly mamograms. For detailed information about Breast Cancer you can visit the official "Breast Cancer Awareness" website, or the Susan G. Komen for the Cure website. Here is a page that I created in honor of my Aunts who are survivors of this dreaded disease. I have also made a mini kit that I will be giving away for free during the first couple of weeks of October so keep checking back for the pieces you see in the page that I've created. Font used was Gilligan's Island.
