Trying to catch up

Unemployment rate in Ohio right now is nearly 10% and I am so grateful to have a job but I would definitely like to work fewer hours. I am nearing 60 hours this week already and have two days left in my work week. Boy am I tired. Retail is wonderful because no day is just like the last and you never know what kind of opportunities you will have during the day but with that being said the flip side of the coin is that often times so much happens that by the end of the day the drain is both physical and mental. Today is my day off, the first for the past 10 days having worked nine straight in a row. You know, I think that one of the things that I absolutely love about scrapbooking is that while I am creating a page I can become so immersed in the memory of what I am creating that I can forget about everything else for a short while.

So here are some of my memories that I have escaped in for a short time.

This page I created thinking about Miss Daisee Mae, my precious GoldenDoodle. She was due to go to the vet for a routine yearly exam and get her rabies updated but when I put her leash on her she got so excited that it caused her to have a seizure. So, she got more than her routine exam at the vets. Now I am waiting on results of blood work that they sent to Michigan State University. This page was created with Blue Dreams by Dream Catchers Scrapping of Deco-Pages.com. You can find the kit here: http://deco-pages.com/product.php?productid=18442&cat=0&page=1 and Dream Catchers Scrapping Store here: http://deco-pages.com/manufacturers.php?manufacturerid=50&sort=add_date&sort_direction=1&page=1

I am still trying to catch up my scrapping from Easter. There was so much happening and so many pictures taken. It was great fun with all the kids. Even the big kids...like in this page where some of them are hiding Easter Eggs for the hunt.

This page I created for a challenge at Deco-Pages.com, Scrap by Numbers. This fun challenge requires a number of differnt elements to complete it and this month it was 3 different papers, 3 different flowers, 3 different photos and 3 different elements of choice. So for this challenge I used RoseMadeDesigns April Smile which is the starter kit for her challenges. It is free to Club Deco Members or available in her store for $2.50. You can find her store here: http://deco-pages.com/manufacturers.php?manufacturerid=8&sort=add_date&sort_direction=1&page=1 and the kit here: http://deco-pages.com/product.php?productid=18449&cat=0&page=2

Yesterday was Earth Day. Did you do something special to honor mother earth? Check out these wonderful paper grocery sacks that 1st - 3rd graders at Liberty Union Elementary School decorated. How cool is that! So much talent wrapped up in tiny little packages and with very important messages to boot. This page was created using the April 2009 Club Deco Kit from Deco-Pages.com using the contribution from PatinParis of Paris Designs.

Thanks for reading. Check back next week as I will have a freebie to leave here :)
