Bird Watching and a Freebie

I spent the three day weekend outside gardening! I love it! Even weeding is fun for me! Of course I have so many trees, flowers and birds that it is very entertaining being outside. I spent a substantial amount of time watching a little wren busy making her home in a gourd bird house that I grew and made. She sure was busy...gathering and then re-arranging the inside after she'd take it in. And her song is so happy! I just love these little birds. She was quite the entertainment for me and I found that it took me 10 times longer to do my chores than it would have ordinarily but watching her was worth it. The kit that I used for this page is called Birdhouses by Sharon's Signature Scraps and can be found at Deco Pages and right now it is on sale for @2.29. The second page is also made with her fabulous kit. Then, I was side tracked watching a pair of cardinals at play, or at least she was at play, he was on guard. It was cute watching her flit around the yard and him follow her staying just a little bit behind her. That is indeed a special love. Kit used for this page was May Club Deco Kit that is free for Club Deco Members. Contribution is created by Kathie Woolery. But birds aren't the only thing wandering around distracting me, lol. I have a white squirrel that nests in my garage and she has been MIA for a couple weeks. I guess she left when her babies did...or she followed them for a while but she decided to return home this weekend. Daisie has missed chasing her too and noticed immediately when she re-appeared...maybe it's because she is white as Daisie doesn't seem to chase the gray ones nearly as much. But either way, I did this page of her using Seeds of Summer by DigiSkrapNMomma of Divine Digital. If you like the page, keep your eyes out as I will be giving away this QP in the "very near" future. In the meantime, Here is another QP that I made. I hope that you like it. You can download it here or just click on the image.

The Puppies Have Arrived

In six weeks I will have a new furbaby in the house! Whoo Hoo! My Airedale Murphee is such a good dog and I have loved Airedales for a very long time! They are such good dogs; loyal, protective, playful and headstrong. I had put up money for a puppy in October and finally the puppies have arrived. I have been waiting for what seems like forever for a new Airedale puppy! I am not looking forward to the terror part of the terrier but all the fun she will be and Daisie will love having a new playmate! Murphee tries to play with her but it is too much for her to be bouncing around with the energy that Daisie has! So, I just received a picture of the new arrivals and here is the page that I made with it. Credits for the page go to Retro and her Doggie Treats kit, Cardboard tag: DigiSkrapNMomma, daisy staple and hearts - Ilona Hamp, columbine flowers and trim; Lori Staton, Journal tag; MoveFearlesslyDesigns, Butterflies; Paris Designs, and Ribbon by Designs by CAZ.
I am so excited, I can hardly wait!!!!!

So, I haven't posted for a while as I've been busy concentrating on trying to find employment. I filed my last unemployment claim yesterday.... Boy the job market is tough! But I have made a few pages since my last post.... Mother's Day came and went and I was blessed with both my boys coming home on the Saturday before. I don't get to see them very often and am grateful when I do. The wonderful ball that you see in this is the new fountain that my DS and DIL got me for mothers day. It is a fountain and the ball is actually a marble that is heavier than a bowling ball. I was really tickled with it. The water makes the marble spin. I have been trying to watch for the cat's to realize that it is here and play with the ball but so far no takers. They love to drink out of my other fountain so I thought they would be intrigued by the fact that the ball spins. All pieces of this page were made by me!

Then on Mother's Day I woke up and let the dogs out and what a mess of excitement then. I didn't realize that the wind had blown the gate open until after I got my morning coffee and the dogs didn't come back to the door to be let in.....Lord, what a scare! I live on a very busy main street and I was terrified that they would be hit!
But as you'll see, they were safe! Whew! I can do without that kind of excitement though! Kit used was Doggie Treats by Retro Designs.

Well, I'm off to job hunt some more! Have a wonderful day and thanks for reading my blog!

Rainy Dayz and a freebie

It's raining and has been now for several days! I really don't like the rain but I do like how green everything is when it rains. It makes everything so bright and colorful and gives the earth new life. Hence the theme of my freebie for today.

With the new month I have been very busy with new pages as you have already seen. I have put together some with my Sweet Grandson in the back yard as he has explored the things he's found. I found this wonderful kit to use called Backyard Explorer by RoseMadeDesigns of Deco Pages.
This kit has 2 Quick pages, 8 bacground papers, 1 magnifying glass, 1 bug net, 1 map, 1 bug, 1 compass 4 frames 4 patches, 4 stickers, 4 tags, 4 trims and 2 word arts. It also comes with a BONUS: Space Explorer Mini Kit that has 3 background papers, 3 rockers, 3 buttons, 2 stars and a moon! It's a great little kit for your explorer! I have really enjoyed using it for my grandsons recent visit!

Tuesdays are my "Grandma" days and we went flower shopping to get ideas on what to put in her flower beds this year. We weren't able to shop for long because she found she couldn't be on her feet for very long and the nursery didn't really have any place for her to sit and rest...but we saw some really pretty flowers that we will be going back for after some bushes are pulled out of the existing beds. I am so grateful to have my grandmother and appreciate every minute that I can get with her. At 90 years old, she isn't a spring chicken and we are very fortunate that she is still sharp, independent and mobile. I used K.T. Scraps Primavera Promises for the pages that I made of our shopping trip. It has so many sweet little pieces in it and so soft and feminine and perfect for my grandmother. Perfect for spring as well. This kit has 73 pieces total in it that includes 8 patterned papers, 8 solid papers, 4 Binder Clips , 4 Butterflies , 4 Fiber Bows , 9 Spring Flowers , 4 Folded Ribbon Frames, 4 Individual Leaves , 4 17" Lace Ribbons, 8 Beaded Staples, 4 Metal Rimmed Scalloped Vellum Tags, 4 Patterned Metal Rimmed Tags with Vellum Inserts , 4 Solid Metal Rimmed Tags, and 4 Vellum Journal Squares/Photo Mats. It's a very pretty kit to work with for spring or feminine pages.
I am working on a new kit with springy colors and should have pieces of it up sometime next week. It has been great fun learning how to design my own pieces and am looking forward to the time when I feel like I am good enough to be professional. I have a long ways to go yet. I still have a lot to learn about the actions and filters in photoshop and how to apply them and get the effects that I am looking for but I hope that you are able to use and enjoy what I have been able to do so far. So, with that being said; here is my freebie for today.
